This workshop will focus on all facets of pointing and cleaning of stone masonry, brick masonry and Terracotta. Many of the older houses here in Pittsburgh have suffered due to years of soot from the mills and  freeze thaw conditions which cause cracks due to  water infiltration. Paint removal will be a focus also. Chemicals for cleaning and the proper techniques will be addressed as well as the different mortar mixes and colors used in the restoration process of brick, stone and terracotta buildings.
